Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung hosted a welcoming ceremony for Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the Government Office on the morning of October 26.

At the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Donald Tusk is making an official visit to Vietnam from October 24 to 26.
This is Donald Tusk's second visit to Vietnam as Poland's prime minister. His first visit took place 16 years ago. Before travelling to Hanoi, the Polish leader stopped in Da Nang and attended several activities there from October 24.
The national anthems of Vietnam and Poland were played during the ceremony. Le Minh Hung and Donald Tusk took part in the flag ceremony for the two countries.
Le Minh Hung then invited the Polish prime minister to inspect the guard of honour of the Vietnam People's Army.
The visit has political, diplomatic and economic significance and reflects the Polish government's attention to Vietnam, one of Poland's priority partners in the Indo-Pacific and one of its leading partners in ASEAN.
The two sides also intend to continue implementing directions for cooperation agreed during the Vietnamese prime minister's visit to Poland in January 2025.
The two prime ministers took a commemorative photograph in the main hall of the Government Office.
Le Minh Hung and Donald Tusk then began their talks.
Vietnam-Poland relations are developing favourably, creating conditions for further cooperation.
Poland was among the first European countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam.
Poland is also one of Vietnam's most important trading partners in Central and Eastern Europe. Bilateral trade has continued to grow, especially since the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect. Two-way trade reached US$3.94 billion in 2025, up 14.8% from 2024. In the first seven months of 2026, it exceeded US$2.6 billion, an increase of 17% from the same period last year.

During the visit, the two sides are focusing on cooperation in the economy, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. They are also seeking to expand market access, strengthen business ties and make effective use of the EVFTA, while promoting newer areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green technology and the training of highly qualified personnel.
