Ho Chi Minh City Social Security has warned about a new scam linked to the supposed integration of children's health insurance.
Scammers may pose as insurance officials, school employees or government workers. They exploit parents' concern about student health insurance to obtain personal information and steal money.
One tactic is to ask parents to update or integrate their child's health insurance details through VNeID, VssID or another online platform. The scammers may then direct them to share personal data, open a link, scan a QR code, install an unknown app or make a transaction as instructed.
The authorities advise parents to be cautious about unexpected calls and messages concerning a child's health insurance. Vietnam Social Security says parents should follow the "four no's and one proactive action" principle to protect their personal information and assets.
