Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and a high-level Vietnamese delegation visited the Angkormilk project of the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in Phnom Penh on October 10.
PM Hung was on an official visit to Cambodia. He highly valued the project's achievements, describing them as vivid proof of the success of Vietnamese investment in Cambodia that contributes to relations between the two countries.
He noted that during his visit, the two sides showed determination to strongly promote connections across various fields, including trade and investment.
The Government leader urged Angkormilk to continue expanding its operations, strictly follow local laws and regulations, and ensure product quality and food safety.
The company should engage more deeply in supply chains and distribution networks to secure a stronger foothold in Cambodia, he said. He also asked Vinamilk to make practical contributions to job creation, Cambodia's economic development and community activities, helping strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
Regarding the company's recommendations and future plans, the PM emphasised that the Government, ministries, sectors and localities support Vietnamese enterprises and create favourable conditions for them to invest and do business abroad, treating this as a priority.
Vinamilk Chief Executive Officer Mai Kieu Lien told the PM that 2026 is a special year for the company as Vinamilk celebrates its 50th anniversary. As a national brand of Vietnam, the company continues to affirm its position on the global dairy map. Vinamilk has been recognised as the World's Most Potential Dairy Brand and has achieved an AAA+ rating.
In Cambodia, after more than a decade of investment, Angkormilk still has substantial room to expand production, complete its value chain and contribute more to the economies of both nations, Vinamilk said. Lien added that the development of Angkormilk also helps raise the stature and prestige of Vietnamese businesses in the regional market.
From initial capital of more than 20 million USD, Vinamilk's total investment in the project has reached 51.7 million USD to date. In the 2015–2025 period, Angkormilk recorded cumulative revenue of 573 million USD and post-tax profit of 83 million USD.
In 2025, revenue reached nearly 104 million USD and post-tax profit stood at 11 million USD. In the first nine months of 2026, revenue surged by 230% and post-tax profit jumped by 238% compared with the same period last year.
The project provides stable employment for 662 Cambodian workers and has created an ecosystem of nearly 110 local suppliers employing around 10,000 workers. Lien said Vinamilk plans to expand the Angkormilk factory to increase production capacity.
