Vietnam's National Technology Innovation Fund (NATIF) has opened applications from businesses for the second 2026 round of interest support on loans for technology use, transfer and innovation.

The program is intended to give businesses more financial resources for investment in technology use, transfer and innovation, as well as to improve their production and business capacity.

Eligible applicants are legal entities carrying out an investment project or plan involving technology transfer, technology use, technology innovation or innovation, and using loans from credit institutions licensed to operate in Vietnam.

The loans may be used for technology investment and innovation allowed under the program, including the purchase of machinery, equipment and production lines for technology use or transfer.

The support covers 50% of the interest rate stated in the credit agreement between the business and the credit institution, up to a maximum of 6% a year.

Support runs from the fund's approval until the business fulfills its repayment obligations to the credit institution, for no more than 5 years. At the time those obligations are completed, the loan must have at least 12 months left before its repayment deadline.

To be considered, a business must show that it can carry out the project and has the required financial resources, staff and facilities. It must also meet reporting requirements, provide supporting documents and comply with the fund's inspections and supervision.

Selection gives priority to feasible projects that can be applied directly and produce economic benefits or address social issues, while improving productivity, quality and competitiveness or protecting the environment.

The fund also prioritizes projects using technologies on the list encouraged for transfer, high technologies prioritized for development investment or strategic technologies.

The program also prioritizes small and medium-sized businesses, technology innovation projects related to strategic technologies and projects that can generate at least a 7% increase in added value.

Applications that meet the requirements will be reviewed in the order they are received until the available funding is used up.
