Meeting in Phnom Penh
According to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met National Assembly President Khuon Sudary at the Cambodian National Assembly on October 9 during his official visit.
Khuon Sudary welcomed the Vietnamese delegation, conveyed greetings to To Lam and Tran Thanh Man, thanked Vietnam for its July 2026 reception, congratulated Vietnam on its achievements and expressed support for its 2030 and 2045 development goals. She said Cambodia gives high priority to traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, which should be developed for regional peace and stability.
Le Minh Hung conveyed greetings from To Lam and Tran Thanh Man, congratulated Cambodia on its achievements and said Vietnam prioritizes good-neighborly relations, traditional friendship and long-term cooperation. He said the ties built by generations must be preserved and developed.
Reporting on talks with Prime Minister Hun Manet, Le Minh Hung said the sides reached common understandings on strengthening political trust, regular high-level contacts and bilateral mechanisms. They agreed to develop investment, production and cross-border industrial and agricultural value chains, expand processing, improve infrastructure, logistics and border trade, and facilitate business and people-to-people contacts.
Khuon Sudary welcomed the talks and bilateral documents. The sides agreed to expand parliamentary cooperation, support their governments and uphold ASEAN centrality. They stressed youth exchanges and agreed to organize Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2027 activities for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations on June 24, 2027, involving parliaments, authorities and people.
