In meetings with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Manh highlighted the state’s strengths in manufacturing, chemicals, textiles, ports and logistics.

He said Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation with Indian states with strong economic potential, including Gujarat. Businesses from both sides could expand work in manufacturing, supporting industries, chemicals, textiles, materials production and high technology.

The ambassador called on Gujarat authorities to facilitate Vietnamese enterprises’ efforts to explore opportunities, launch projects and expand their investment and business activities in the state.

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is seeking to scale up its investment in India, including the development of electric vehicle distribution and an ecosystem in Gujarat. Manh expressed hope that local authorities would support the company in accessing the market, completing legal procedures and obtaining the necessary licences in accordance with regulations.

The Gujarat leaders spoke positively about the prospects for economic cooperation with Vietnam and affirmed their readiness to provide Vietnamese businesses with information, consultancy and guidance on the investment environment, policy framework and necessary procedures.

The two sides agreed to strengthen connections among relevant authorities, industry associations and business communities to identify specific and feasible cooperation projects.

They also discussed tourism and cultural exchanges, particularly spiritual and Buddhist tourism. Gujarat leaders expressed interest in attracting more Vietnamese visitors and strengthening links between travel companies from the two countries.

The sides discussed connecting India’s Buddhist Circuit with cultural and spiritual destinations in Vietnam and promoting their respective heritage, cultural values and tourist attractions.

Manh called on Gujarat to consider support measures for tourism businesses developing tours and linking destinations. They also explored stronger cooperation between localities, including the possibility of establishing sister city ties between areas with complementary strengths.

The partnerships could broaden exchanges and business links and support experience sharing in economic development, urban management, tourism and culture.

The two sides discussed the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled for January 2027. Manh proposed continued coordination to encourage more Vietnamese enterprises to participate in investment and trade promotion activities in the state.
