Drivers must keep a safe distance when changing lanes on expressways
Traffic police said the increased enforcement on expressways followed a direction from the head of the Traffic Police Department to prevent crashes and reduce them sustainably.
Changing lanes without a safe distance from the vehicle behind is one of the violations targeted by traffic police.
Traffic police recommend that drivers on expressways follow road signs, maintain an appropriate speed, pay attention to their surroundings and keep a safe distance from nearby vehicles.
When changing lanes, drivers must keep a safe distance from the vehicle behind and avoid sudden lane changes that could endanger other road users.
Traffic police also said the entire expressway is covered by surveillance cameras. The system can record violations for inspection and enforcement under the regulations.
Traffic police urged people not to be careless on expressways, as a single unsafe lane change can lead to a traffic accident.
