The National Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital opened its second campus on October 17 in Kieu Phu Commune, Hanoi.
The facility has 17 departments and 11 units, with 300 inpatient beds and 2,731 medical procedures available.
At the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra urged the hospital to continue improving medical care, expand the use of science and technology, and improve management so that the second campus can become a modern specialised hospital for the ASEAN region.

Tra also stressed that protecting and improving people's health remains the top political priority of the Party and the State. Politburo Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW calls for a decisive shift from treating illness to proactive disease prevention and comprehensive healthcare throughout the human life cycle.
“In this context, reproductive healthcare, the safety of mothers and newborns, and improving the quality of the population have strategic significance for the healthcare system and the nation's development,” Tra said.
Tra said the second campus expands the hospital's capacity for medical examination and treatment, strengthens its role as a leading specialised institution, and helps it better meet the healthcare needs of Hanoi residents, people in neighbouring provinces, and domestic and international patients who require advanced medical care.

To ensure the second campus operates effectively, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the hospital to keep improving examination and treatment, put patients at the centre, and give top priority to patient safety and the quality of care.
Along with making full use of its modern facilities and equipment, the hospital should maintain a cohesive and professional operation based on the principle of “two campuses, one team, and a single professional standard”. This should prevent differences in treatment and patient care between the two sites.
Tra stressed that alongside professional expertise, the hospital must give close attention to medical ethics, professional conduct, compassion, responsibility, and the overall quality of its services.
The hospital should also use its leading position in the field to develop specialised medical expertise, apply scientific and technological advances, and support innovation with the aim of meeting regional and international standards.
Dr Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, said the opening of the second campus helps expand the capacity of the specialised obstetrics and gynaecology healthcare system.
“I hope our second campus will quickly become a trusted place for the public to receive medical care and a centre for developing advanced specialised treatment techniques for Hanoi and the whole country,” Dr Anh said.
The hospital follows the motto “Two locations, one team, one professional standard” and treats consistency in clinical quality and care protocols as its main principle.
Campus 2 began admitting patients on August 4, 2026. During more than two months of operation, the hospital recorded an average of about 300 patient visits a day, provided inpatient care with 150 beds, and conducted more than 4,000 laboratory tests. It also handled about 20 births and 5 to 10 gynaecological surgeries each day.
