The National Innovation Day 2026 exhibition in Hanoi featured robots, AI solutions, automation, virtual reality and urban infrastructure technology.
The event was held at the National Convention Centre on October 4. More than 100 booths represented major companies including Samsung and Meta, financial institutions, research institutes and universities. Thousands of visitors arrived from early morning.
Robots were among the main attractions. The displays included humanoid, four-legged, service and entertainment robots. At the Astec booth, visitors tried an AI chess robot and saw service and research models.
SenseRobot, developed by SenseTime, played chess on a physical board. Its mechanical arm works with AI vision to recognise moves in real time. The distributor said the system has dozens of challenge levels, from beginner to grandmaster, and can pick up and move pieces without a separate screen.
ETEK demonstrated automated packaging and cargo-handling equipment. Its robotic arm uses a multi-point vacuum gripper to lift heavy packages. The distributor said the robot can stop when it detects contact with a person and operate in an open space without a large protective cage.
Nextgen Robotics showed robotic arms combined with autonomous vehicles on a model layout. The modular kits are designed for education and can include displays, AI cameras for object recognition and flexible grippers for students to study and practise programming.
The exhibition also presented civilian technology for urban problems such as flooding and climate adaptation. The Interconnected Well Network, or IWIN, was shown as a working model. When rainwater rises above the safe capacity of surface drainage, the system redirects it through an underground network of wells.
A technology company also presented a virtual reality and extended reality system combined with artificial intelligence. Visitors put on VR headsets to experience solutions built around AI, XR and digital twins.
At Samsung’s booth, young people and students learned about technology education and tried new mobile devices, including smartwatches and a tri-fold phone.
The National Innovation Day 2026 was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology under the theme “Innovation as a driving force for the development of society”. The event connected government agencies, businesses, research institutes, universities, experts, financial institutions and investment funds to share resources and develop new initiatives and projects.
