On the morning of October 15, the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee held a launch ceremony for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project. The ceremony covered component projects 2-4 and 2-5, a section running from Thay Cai Canal to Hiep Phuoc Port under a public-private partnership model. Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. is the project investor.

The section through Tay Ninh Province is nearly 78 km long. In the first phase, it will be built with four lanes and a design speed of 100 km/h under the class 100 expressway standard. Total investment will exceed VND 43 trillion.

The road will pass through the communes of Hau Nghia, Duc Lap, Hoa Khanh, Duc Hue, Thanh Loi, Binh Duc, Ben Luc, My Yen, Long Can, Rach Kien, My Le, My Loc, Phuoc Vinh Tay, Can Giuoc and Tan Tap in Tay Ninh, as well as Hiep Phuoc Commune in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Van Hanh, chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, said Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 is one of the important transport projects in the southern key economic region. The full route will be about 159 km long, pass through several localities and create an additional transport corridor linking Ho Chi Minh City with the Southeast region, the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands.

For Tay Ninh, the project is intended to connect the province's development areas with the regional transport network and production and logistics chains.

Once completed, the road will give goods from Tay Ninh's industrial parks and clusters, production areas and border areas another convenient route to seaports and airports. The project will also support the development of industry, urban areas, trade, services and logistics along the route.

Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 has been designated a strategic transport project. It is expected to link industrial parks, urban areas, seaports and airports, reduce traffic pressure in central Ho Chi Minh City and expand space for socioeconomic development in the southern key economic region.

Nguyen Van Hung, director of the Tay Ninh Transport Works Project Management Board, said that after the launch ceremony, the board would focus on speeding up contractors' work. It will work with the investor to inspect and monitor construction and resolve difficulties related to site clearance and material supplies, with the aim of keeping the project on schedule and meeting quality requirements before opening the road to traffic as soon as possible.
