On the morning of October 30, traffic was generally stable on several roads around Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the first day of the new traffic plan. However, many cars continued entering a section of Le Van Sy Street where they had been banned.
Traffic was fairly heavy on Le Van Sy, Hoang Van Thu and Cong Hoa streets and around Lang Cha Ca roundabout, but it generally continued moving steadily.

On Le Van Sy Street, many cars were still using the road that had been restricted to cars travelling from Bui Thi Xuan Street toward Hoang Van Thu, despite the new rule.
Earlier, the Ho Chi Minh City traffic police said that during the first days of the change, officers would repeatedly remind and guide road users as they adjusted to the new routes. They would not issue fines at this stage. After the information campaign, officers would begin handling deliberate violations.
Traffic was fairly heavy under Lang Cha Ca overpass toward Nguyen Van Troi Street. Motorbikes and cars moved together, but traffic remained stable.
Traffic was stable at the Cong Hoa-C12 intersection, where all types of vehicles had recently been allowed to turn left from Cong Hoa Street into C12.
Under the new plan, the left-turn lane from Cong Hoa Street into C12 was widened from 5 metres to 7 metres. All types of vehicles can now make the turn, replacing the restrictions previously applied to some vehicles.
Changes to note around Tan Son Nhat Airport
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, traffic arrangements on several roads and intersections around Tan Son Nhat Airport were changed from October 30 to improve safety and reflect actual traffic conditions.

At the Pho Quang-Tam Anh Hospital entrance intersection, cars are banned from turning left from the hospital entrance onto Pho Quang Street between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
The traffic plan at the Tran Quoc Hoan-Hoang Van Thu intersection remains unchanged. Vehicles can continue to travel in mixed traffic and turn left from Tran Quoc Hoan Street onto Hoang Van Thu Street.
At Lang Cha Ca roundabout, the traffic island on Cong Hoa Street in front of the roundabout will remain unchanged. An additional traffic light will be installed on the right side of Cong Hoa Street.
Two left-turn arrows will be added at the left-turn point on Hoang Van Thu Street near the Hoang Van Thu-Nguyen Van Troi intersection. The existing traffic island will remain.
At the Cong Hoa-Ap Bac and Cong Hoa-Tan Ky Tan Quy intersections, relevant units were asked to adjust traffic-light phases and signal durations to match actual traffic volumes.
The Department of Construction also asked relevant units to monitor traffic regularly after the changes. If congestion or complicated situations occur, they must promptly study them and propose measures.
During the first days of the new plan, people travelling around Tan Son Nhat Airport should watch road signs, traffic lights and instructions from traffic officers, especially at locations where travel directions or car restrictions have recently changed.
