SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet is officially accepting orders in Vietnam. It appeared on the list of available countries on August 13, 2026. Residents can check an address, choose a plan and order equipment. The launch is especially relevant to remote areas, country homes and people who need an additional connection.
Starlink officially arrives in Vietnam
On August 13, 2026, Vietnam received the Available Now status on Starlink’s coverage map. In March 2025, authorities allowed SpaceX to run a pilot programme. It runs until the end of 2030, is capped at 600,000 users and includes approval for four ground stations. The service operates through Starlink Services Vietnam.
How much Starlink costs in Vietnam
The official Starlink Vietnam residential page lists two home plans. Hardware is billed separately and starts at VND 8,655,300 in select areas.
Starlink also lists a 30-day trial with a possible full refund under its terms. Final prices and availability depend on the service address. The estimated cost of the kit plus the first month on the lower plan is VND 9,787,290.
How Starlink satellite internet works
A terminal exchanges data with Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit and devices connect over Wi-Fi. The antenna needs a clear view of the sky. Speeds depend on location, network load, plan, obstructions and weather; 400+ Mbps is not guaranteed.
Who may benefit from Starlink in Vietnam
For apartments in central Nha Trang, Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City, fibre internet is often simpler. Satellite connectivity may help remote homes, country properties, tourist sites, backup connections and some travellers. Mini, Roam and local conditions must be checked separately; a residential plan does not automatically replace a mobile plan.
Can Starlink be used in Nha Trang and other cities?
Availability and capacity are checked for each address at https://starlink.com/vn. Activation requires equipment and the official app can help with installation and obstructions. A separate power source is needed during an outage.
Will Starlink replace regular internet in Vietnam?
Equipment and subscriptions cost more than wired internet for many users, so Starlink is unlikely to replace fibre on a mass scale for now. It expands options where terrestrial service is unstable or an independent connection is needed. Check the address, plan and installation conditions before buying.
