Spectre Group inaugurated its Spectre 2 garment factory at Song Tra Industrial Park in northern Hung Yen province on October 30. It is the company's fourth factory in Vietnam and its second in the province.
The factory was built around high technology, energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. It has received LEED Gold certification, a high standard for energy-saving and environmentally friendly building design. Solar power and modern solutions are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by about 1,600 tonnes a year compared with conventional plants of a similar size.
Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Lina Gandløse Hansen described Spectre's continued investment as a sign of the potential for cooperation between Denmark and Vietnam. The opening took place in the year marking 55 years of diplomatic relations, shortly after the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam's state visit to Denmark.
Hansen said Hung Yen's strategic location and growth potential should attract further investment, including from Danish companies. The Danish Embassy will continue supporting Danish businesses in Vietnam and Hung Yen, and will work with Vietnamese partners to improve the business climate and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
Le Quang Hoa, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said Hung Yen now has two Danish-invested projects worth a total of 19.3 million USD. The Spectre 2 project covers 5ha and costs 477 billion VND, or 18.49 million USD. It is designed to produce 3.5 million high-tech garment items a year, while the factory and office space available for lease totals about 9,400 sq.m.
Once it reaches stable operation, the project is expected to generate about 800 billion VND in annual revenue, employ roughly 2,000 people and contribute more than 100 billion VND to the State budget. Provincial authorities said the project should support industry and employment in Hung Yen as well as investment ties between Vietnam and Denmark.
Speaking about Hung Yen's newly announced 2021-2030 master plan with a vision to 2050, Le Quang Hoa said the province aims to provide favourable conditions and infrastructure for investors, experts and workers, including housing, healthcare, education and the business environment. Provincial authorities said they would continue engaging with companies, consider their proposals and promptly address obstacles to business.
Jesper Klausen, co-owner and Chief Business Development Officer of Spectre Group, said the company has nearly 80 years of experience in garment manufacturing, including 37 years producing functional apparel and outdoor sportswear. Spectre focuses on product quality and continuous innovation.
Spectre has expanded steadily since opening its first production site in Vietnam in 2010. It now employs nearly 6,000 people across four factories in Ninh Binh, An Giang and Hung Yen, with total investment exceeding 60 million USD.
