Swiss President Guy Parmelin is visiting Vietnam on October 17-18 as the countries mark 55 years of diplomatic relations.
Cooperation
The countries elevated their ties to a Comprehensive Partnership in January 2025 and are developing cooperation in agriculture, biotechnology, green energy and the digital economy.
Bilateral trade reached 811.2 million USD in 2024 and 1.04 billion USD in 2025. Negotiations on a Vietnam-EFTA free trade agreement concluded on July 2, 2026, after 14 years.
Ambassador Thomas Gass said the agreement would strengthen business confidence and facilitate trade.
