The Ho Chi Minh City police investigation agency has announced that it is seeking victims in a fraud case. Investigators say the suspect, Tran Bach Duong, posed as an FPT employee and offered electronic devices at low prices.
On October 26, authorities said the Ho Chi Minh City police were expanding their investigation into a criminal case involving fraud and misappropriation of property. The case concerns Tran Bach Duong, 26, a Ho Chi Minh City resident.
Investigators discovered the case in September 2026 and charged Tran Bach Duong with fraud and misappropriation of property. According to preliminary findings, he contacted victims through social media and claimed to work for FPT Corporation. To gain their trust, he said he could buy electronic devices at a preferential price and persuaded them to transfer money.
At first, Duong delivered some products on time. This led victims to trust him and place further orders for larger quantities and higher amounts. After receiving the next large payments, he took all the money.
To support the investigation and legal proceedings, Ho Chi Minh City police are asking anyone whose money was taken by Tran Bach Duong using this method to contact the Ho Chi Minh City police investigation agency as soon as possible. The office is at 459 Tran Hung Dao Street, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. They should contact investigator Nguyen Ngoc Hoang at 0971440567.
