The province aims to sustain double-digit growth. New projects are expected to expand production capacity, create jobs and accelerate economic restructuring.

Industry and production chains

Van Phong Economic Zone is becoming a main destination for industrial investment in Khanh Hoa. Its location, seaport conditions and international trade links create opportunities for large-scale industries, especially shipbuilding and supporting industries.

Miboo Heavy Industries of the Republic of Korea is investing 528.2 billion VND, or 20.43 million USD, in a ship block plant. The 12.7-hectare facility will produce 30,000 tonnes a year. Its localisation rate is expected to exceed 70%.

HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding has operated in Khanh Hoa for three decades. It employs more than 5,000 people and contributes over 700 million USD to the province's annual export turnover.

High-technology projects

For 2026–2030, Khanh Hoa aims to attract about 500 million USD in registered foreign investment and approximately 900 million USD in cumulative disbursed investment. Priority will go to projects from developed economies and companies whose technologies can join global production chains.

The province plans to support research centres, innovation hubs, data centres and regional operations centres. Projects must fit its 2021–2030 master plan with a vision to 2050.

HeMemics Biotechnologies, Viet Khanh and other investors have formed a consortium to build a graphene and biochip plant. The facility will cover more than 14,400 square metres, cost about 390 billion VND and produce graphene, biochips and specialised devices. US partners will transfer the technologies, which will then be adapted to Vietnamese production conditions.

David Ho of HeMemics Biotechnologies said mastering graphene would give Vietnam a distinctive strategic position. He said the material was important to batteries, solar power and biosensors.
