The department ordered schools to turn the conclusions of the 10–11 October conference into plans with named responsibilities, tasks, deadlines and outputs.
The four groups cover staffing, admissions and facilities, digital transformation and AI, and a safe educational environment.
Six education bottlenecks
The department cited shortages of about 9,000 teachers and 16,000 classrooms, pressure on Grade 10 admissions, difficulty attracting resources, slow digital transformation, staffing gaps and risks involving school safety and meals.
