Dong Hoa in Ho Chi Minh City plans to acquire more than 24 hectares of land for a metro line between New Binh Duong City and Suoi Tien.

On the afternoon of October 15, the Dong Hoa People's Committee held a meeting to inform households about the route plan and the schedule for surveys, measurements and inventories for Metro Line 1, New Binh Duong City to Suoi Tien.

Metro Line 1, New Binh Duong City to Suoi Tien, will be more than 30.66 kilometers long. It is expected to pass through seven wards and include 19 elevated stations, a depot and a train parking area. The section through Dong Hoa will be about 3.71 kilometers long and will have three stations and a train parking area.

Initial statistics show that Dong Hoa is expected to acquire more than 24 hectares of land for the project.

Most residents at the meeting agreed with the project, while asking authorities to pay attention to compensation rates, temporary accommodation and resettlement policies, and the rights of affected households.

Nguyen Van Yem, deputy chairman of the Dong Hoa People's Committee, said the local authorities would prepare a detailed plan, include all applicable policies and protect residents' rights.

Under the plan, working groups will visit each household to survey existing conditions and collect legal documents for the compensation plan. Dong Hoa aims to complete the land acquisition in the first quarter of 2027.
