On October 23, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced a remote traffic-routing plan for Nguyen Chi Thanh Street at the La Thanh and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection. The plan will support overpass construction in the area.
The traffic-routing plan will run from October 24 through November 25.
Vehicles traveling from Nguyen Chi Thanh Street toward Tran Duy Hung will be directed to choose one of two routes.
The first route is Nguyen Chi Thanh, Dao Tan, Lang Street, Nguyen Chi Thanh, and Tran Duy Hung. The second is Dao Tan, Lang Street, Huynh Thuc Khang, Nguyen Chi Thanh, and Tran Duy Hung.
In the opposite direction, vehicles traveling from Tran Duy Hung to Nguyen Chi Thanh can use Tran Duy Hung, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Chua Lang, Huynh Thuc Khang, Kim Ma, and Nguyen Chi Thanh, or travel via Lang Street, Kim Ma, and Nguyen Chi Thanh.
At the center of the La Thanh and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection, vehicles will continue moving through the area around the fenced island under the current traffic plan.
After the construction fencing is adjusted, the Nguyen Chi Thanh roadway through this area will be an average of about 7.5 meters wide.
To improve traffic safety and reduce congestion, the Department of Construction ordered the relevant units to add road signs and advance directional signs both around the construction area and on approach routes.
Authorities will also install no-stopping and no-parking signs at the center of the intersection and on nearby roads to maintain traffic flow.
