On October 6, Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) put 25 VinFast EB8 electric buses into service on routes 30, from My Dinh Bus Station to Gamuda City, and 50, from Long Bien to An Lac Urban Area. The new buses replaced diesel vehicles.
The buses can carry 60 passengers. They have low floors and facilities for passengers with disabilities, along with other modern features and Hanoibus's signature design.
Another 28 electric buses began operating on routes 22A, from Gia Lam Bus Station to Kien Hung Urban Area, and 22B, from Giap Bat Bus Station to Do Nghia, on October 5.
The change is part of Transerco's green transition plan. The company aims to raise the share of green vehicles in its fleet above 51% by the end of 2026.
Under Hanoi's plan, all petrol and diesel buses in the city will be replaced by electric or other green-energy vehicles by 2030. All buses operating inside Ring Road 4 are due to be converted to electric vehicles.
