Established in 2016, Food Bank Vietnam joined The Global FoodBanking Network in 2019. Over the past decade it distributed more than 84 million kilogrammes of safe food and over 25 million meals to more than 24 million people. The network connected with over 862 social welfare facilities, mobilised more than 2,700 volunteers and expanded to 25 local food banks. In 2025 it mobilised over 400 metric tonnes of food and relief supplies for communities affected by disasters in central Việt Nam.

Founder and chairman Nguyễn Tuấn Khởi said the decade also built trust, partnership and shared responsibility among thousands of people, organisations and businesses. The summit discussed circular, technology-based and proactive solutions across the food value chain. Youth initiatives will include VietGAP, organic and eco-farming, drought-resistant crops, biodegradable packaging, cold-chain improvements and digital farm logs.

The Mobile Food Bank network will collect surplus produce nearing expiry for charity kitchens and vulnerable groups. Food Bank Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement with the Association of Transparent Food and introduced Food Check by Food Bank. The summit also launched the Food Leaders Community. On October 9, leaders and chefs prepared and distributed 1,000 meals and gifts to students with special needs and local shelters.

The organisation is restructuring around food access and nutrition, food lifecycle management and waste reduction, and data, innovation and policy impact. It plans to build a digital data hub, develop cold-chain logistics training, promote food education and contribute to national food security policy.
