Following Politburo Resolution 70 on national energy security through 2030 and toward 2045, EVNSPC allocated resources this year to investment and construction.

In the first nine months, EVNSPC started 46 110 kV grid projects and commissioned 64 220 kV and 110 kV facilities. Disbursement reached VND 13,278.3 billion, or 76.9% of the plan, while net investment reached VND 11,266.3 billion, or 77.2%.

A major focus was a group of power facilities on Phu Quoc. EVNSPC commissioned the 110 kV Phu Quoc–North Phu Quoc line in late August. The 110 kV Phu Quoc–South Phu Quoc line was commissioned on August 16, followed by the Phu Quoc 220 kV substation on August 19.

The three Phu Quoc projects cost nearly VND 2,165 billion in total and were completed almost a year ahead of the general deadline for preparations for APEC 2027. The infrastructure is intended to serve both the summit and the island’s next stage of development.

GRDP in Tay Ninh rose 10.12% in the first six months, while commercial electricity consumption increased 9.47% year on year. Dong Nai’s industrial production index rose 12.67%. EVNSPC commissioned new substations, lines and transformers in both areas.

EVNSPC deputy general director Bui Quoc Hoan said the grid must be prepared ahead of demand. Because grid projects take time, the corporation is expanding system capacity in southern provinces and cities.
