Electricity generation and imports across the system reached 29.97 billion kWh in September, up 9.2% year on year. The nine-month total reached 265.79 billion kWh.
Power transmission was estimated at 23.8 billion kWh in September and 213.98 billion kWh for January through September, up 10.75% from a year earlier. Most electricity flowed from central Vietnam to the north and south.
EVN is continuing to move services online and connect them with national databases. All 12 of its level-four electricity services are now available online. The company has also synchronised electricity billing data with the national population database and, since 15 August, has used 1558 as its customer service number nationwide.
Unit 1 of Quảng Trạch I thermal power plant is still undergoing tests, with commercial generation targeted for late November. Unit 2 was synchronised with the grid on 28 September. Work is also continuing on the expansion of Trị An hydropower plant and the Bác Ái pumped-storage project.
In the first nine months, EVN and its subsidiaries started 136 projects and connected 131 facilities. In September alone, they started 11 projects and connected 13 facilities on 110, 220 and 500 kV grids.

For battery energy storage systems, EVNHANOI has completed 50 MW and EVNNPC 155 MW. EVNNPC is aiming to reach 305 MW in October. Ban Quản lý dự án Điện 2 and EVNGENCO 3 are preparing centralised BESS projects in northern Vietnam with planned capacities of 550 MW and 300 MW respectively.
Under the October operating plan, Vietnam's electricity generation and imports are forecast to reach 88.97 billion kWh in the fourth quarter, up 11.3% from the same period in 2025.
EVN will work with NSMO to keep tracking electricity demand, available generation capacity and water inflows into reservoirs. The company will use that information to prepare power supply plans and scenarios for 2027.
EVN also plans to meet or beat construction schedules for new facilities. For the grid, it says it will complete the entire 220 kV line from Nhơn Trạch 3 power plant to Long Thành in 2026.
