On November 4, the Dong Nai City Federation of Labour announced the 2027 Tet Union Members' Bus programme. It will help union members and workers facing hardship return home to their families for the Dinh Mui Tet holiday.
The programme will provide 3,000 one-way tickets for trips from Dong Nai to provinces and cities from Gia Lai northward. Buses are planned to run along routes through Gia Lai, Da Nang, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Hanoi. Departures are scheduled for January 31, February 1 and February 2, 2027, corresponding to the 24th, 25th and 26th days of the final lunar month.
Eligible applicants include union members and workers at businesses in the city that paid union dues before October 31, comply with state policies and laws, and actively take part in union activities.
Priority will go to people on low incomes or facing hardship, those injured at work or suffering from an occupational or serious illness, people whose working hours have been reduced, who have lost their jobs or are owed wages or bonuses, relatives of people who rendered services to the revolution, members of ethnic minorities, and people affected by natural disasters.
Workers with strong records in their jobs and union activities will also receive priority. Special consideration will go to those who have been unable to return home for Tet for two consecutive years, 2025 and 2026. Workers who received a Tet bus from the Dong Nai City Federation of Labour for the 2026 Binh Ngo holiday will not be eligible.
The union will also help pay for workers to return to their workplaces after the holiday. Those who return before February 15, 2027 will receive an amount equivalent to the intercity bus fare under the rules in effect at the time of travel. Payment requires a valid ticket and documents certified by the employer and the workplace union.
