On October 27, the Dong Nai transport construction project management board announced that it had terminated contracts for all unfinished work assigned to H.Đ. and T.N., including work assigned to their subcontractors.
H.Đ. was responsible for construction package No. 21 under Component 1 of the Bien Hoa Vung Tau Expressway. The contractor breached its obligations on schedule, personnel and equipment. The project owner notified the company of the violations and took action under the signed contract. The contractor stopped work continuously for 43 days from May 19 through June 30 without a valid reason.
T.N. was responsible for construction package No. 26 under Component 3 of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. The project owner said the contractor failed to meet its commitments to make up the schedule delay. The company also asked the owner to find another contractor to take over the remaining work.
The board required both companies to hand over quality-control records, test results, construction logs, as-built drawings and acceptance documents for completed work. Documents on price adjustments for accepted work must be submitted by November 15.
