On October 16, the Traffic Police Division of Dong Nai City Police said it had put a traffic surveillance system into operation at the Information Command Center. The system is used to detect and handle violations of traffic rules and safety requirements.

A total of 762 cameras have been installed on roads and in key areas across the city. Of these, 250 smart AI cameras can pan, zoom and be controlled remotely (PTZ), while the other 512 cameras are used for monitoring, recording and recognizing vehicle license plates.

Using the collected images, law enforcement officers can detect, verify and handle violations such as running a red light, driving in the wrong lane or on the wrong side of the road, drivers or passengers in cars not wearing seat belts, and motorbike and moped riders not wearing helmets.

Dong Nai City Police said the camera system expands traffic-monitoring capacity, helps detect violations promptly and supports objectivity and transparency in enforcement.

The system operates around the clock. It helps law enforcement improve traffic-order and safety management and encourages road users to comply with the law.
