On October 27, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop, director of Da Nang city police, chaired a meeting to review work in October and set key tasks for November 2026.
At the meeting, he told all units to improve their advisory work, monitor developments early and closely, and promptly detect and handle emerging issues.
Particular attention was given to online security. Da Nang police were ordered to review groups showing signs of legal violations, identify new methods and schemes used in fraud, and take action against them.
Nguyen Huu Hop also ordered stronger public communication so residents would remain alert to online fraud schemes and avoid falling victim to them.

The city police were also told to tighten management of unmanned aircraft and strengthen oversight of foreigners and their entry, exit, residence and employment in the city.
Crime fell 16.3% year on year
According to Da Nang police, the city recorded 84 crimes against public order in October. The figure was unchanged from September and 16.3% lower than in the same period last year. There were 35 road traffic accidents.
The city recorded three fires in October, 13 fewer than in September.

As part of crime prevention efforts, Nguyen Huu Hop ordered improvements in investigations, case handling and the processing of crime reports and denunciations. He also called for the early detection of economic crimes and the creation of specialized cases, especially in areas with a risk of complex developments.
In the fight against drugs, units and local authorities were told not to become complacent after peak campaigns. They must closely follow local conditions, manage suspected offenders and prevent and detect crime early.
Da Nang police must also urgently develop and implement a plan to maintain public security during the holiday period and important events at the end of the year. Inspections and fire prevention will be strengthened at apartment buildings, markets, and production and business facilities.
