At a meeting reviewing the 2025-2026 school year and preparing for 2026-2027, Dak Lak's education sector raised the need to strengthen education staff in communes and wards after the administrative reorganization.
Director Le Thi Thanh Xuan said 40 of the province's 102 communes and wards had assigned education officials without relevant expertise or experience. Some officials also handle several areas. The department said this could affect local advice, inspections, guidance and implementation of education policy.
The department asked provincial leaders to instruct local administrations to review staffing and add suitable personnel.
The province reorganized its public education network from 1,267 institutions to 625, a 50.7% reduction. The sector had 2,898 managers before the reorganization; 750 were reassigned to direct teaching afterward. Authorities will preserve leadership allowances for those who no longer hold management posts under existing rules.

The meeting also covered problems with 10th-grade admissions, numerous complaints and two officials and teachers dismissed as a disciplinary measure. The province still lacks classrooms, specialist rooms, basic teaching equipment and other facilities, while education digitalization remains uneven.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thien Van told the sector to improve education quality, narrow regional gaps and implement the 2018 general education program. He said scores should not become the only goal and no student should leave school because of personal circumstances or problems caused by the school-network reorganization.
The province also wants to address teacher shortages and surpluses, direct resources to ethnic minority, mountainous and border areas, and use education data and artificial intelligence safely and for practical purposes.
