Da Nang and Vietjet Aviation signed a cooperation agreement for 2026–2030 on November 4. It covers joint work on route development, tourism promotion, communications and business connections.

One part of the agreement is a plan to study ways to promote images of Da Nang tourism on Vietjet aircraft. The city will also work with the airline to use its media network to introduce tourism destinations, products and experiences to passengers in Vietnam and abroad.

This type of promotion would be directly linked to the airline's operations and give Da Nang more opportunities to reach travelers in markets served by Vietjet. The parties also agreed to connect new routes and improvements in their effectiveness with promotion in source markets, tourism product presentations and business networking.

Other areas of cooperation include market research and development, digital transformation, the use of media platforms, joint cultural, tourism and trade events, sustainable tourism and social responsibility.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, vice chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said the city was entering a new stage of development with expanded space and potential. This direction requires stronger connectivity, competitiveness and destination quality. She said aviation is important for connecting tourists, trade, investment and the promotion of the city.

The city leadership asked Vietjet to continue studying the expansion of its network to Da Nang, especially from potential markets such as India, Indonesia, Japan and Australia. City departments and related organizations are expected to work with the airline to turn the agreement into focused programs and plans with clear responsibilities and effective implementation.

Do Xuan Quang, deputy general director of Vietjet, said Da Nang is one of the airline's important bases and a gateway connecting central Vietnam with economic and tourism centers in Vietnam and abroad. Vietjet will continue working with the city to expand air links, promote the destination, and develop tourism, trade, investment and cargo transport.

From 2022 to 2026, Vietjet worked with Da Nang to develop routes, promote tourism and connect with markets. The airline was the first to operate direct routes linking the city with India. It also worked with the city to organize charter flights from Russia and some markets in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Under the plan, Vietjet will add two routes from Da Nang starting December 20: to Osaka, Japan, and Jakarta, Indonesia. The routes will further expand the city's international connections.
