The city received more than 411,000 visitors from Russia and other CIS countries combined, a 94.2% increase from the same period in 2025. They accounted for about 5.8% of Da Nang’s international arrivals.

What visitors from Russia and the CIS look for

Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said visitors from the region often choose beach resorts, wellness services, local food and cultural trips in Da Nang and Hoi An. Many stay for relatively long periods, so the city is developing products for extended holidays.

During summer 2026, 16 weekly flights connected Da Nang with CIS destinations, alongside charter services from several Russian cities. A campaign across Yandex services reached about 17.2 million users in Russia and the CIS and generated 63.4 million impressions. Searches for Da Nang nearly tripled during the campaign compared with the same period a year earlier.

The city’s plans for the rest of the year

Da Nang plans to keep working with airlines and travel companies in Russia and the CIS. Its plans include familiarisation trips for tourism professionals and journalists, continued promotion on Yandex and preparations for MITT Moscow 2027. The city is also developing holidays that combine beaches with wellness, golf, food and cultural routes.

Accommodation providers served about 14.25 million visitors in the first eight months, up 24.9% year on year. Da Nang aims to welcome more than 19.1 million visitors in 2026, including around 8.7 million international arrivals.
