Da Nang is stepping up efforts to attract foreign direct investment, relying on upgraded infrastructure and a favourable business environment to drive industrial growth.

A favourable investment environment

As the city targets double-digit economic growth, it sees industry as a major driver of growth, labour productivity and economic competitiveness. Da Nang is developing infrastructure and attracting investment in high-tech manufacturing, processing and supporting industries, with a focus on foreign-invested projects.

Karcher Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Germany’s Karcher Group, has put the second phase of its cleaning equipment factory into operation at the Tam Hiep Port and Logistics Industrial Park in Nui Thanh commune. Total investment is about 484 billion VND, or 18.73 million USD. The project covers 6.26 hectares and has total registered capital of more than 985 billion VND.

The first phase has operated since July 2024. The company plans to increase its workforce from about 300 to 1,000 over the next two years while using modern technologies and international standards for quality, safety and sustainability.

The 417-hectare Tam Hiep park has attracted 41 secondary projects, including three foreign-invested projects, with total registered capital of about 10.89 trillion VND and more than 1,250 jobs. Tam Thang Industrial Park has attracted 19 foreign-invested projects worth more than 823.38 million USD, creating nearly 14,000 jobs.

Expanding investment opportunities

According to the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Management Board, southeastern Da Nang has attracted 286 projects with total registered capital of about 241 trillion VND. Of these, 262 are in the economic zone and 67 foreign-invested projects account for 32.7 trillion VND. The projects provide around 45,000–50,000 jobs.

Cargo throughput at Chu Lai port reached 4.6 million tonnes in 2025 and is expected to reach 6 million tonnes in 2026. Fourteen industrial parks in the zone have received in-principle investment approval, covering 3,462 hectares with combined registered capital of 19.16 trillion VND.

In the first nine months of 2026, Da Nang attracted 681.55 million USD in FDI, about 2.87 times last year’s figure. The city licensed 100 new projects worth 522.2 million USD and now has 1,162 foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of about 11.28 billion USD.

The city has also held investment discussions with Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park, Amazon Global Selling Vietnam and the German Business Association in Vietnam.
