The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting said that an intensified, eastward-shifted cold air mass will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms from Thanh Hóa to Huế from the evening of October 27 through October 28, with more than 80 mm possible in some places. Further cold air will move south and upper-level easterly wind disturbances will strengthen. From October 27 to 29, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast from Hà Tĩnh to Đà Nẵng, generally 60-120 mm and locally over 250 mm; more than 100 mm may fall in three hours. Thunderstorms may bring whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong wind gusts. Short periods of heavy rain may flood low-lying areas and cities, raise flash-flood risks on small rivers and streams, and trigger landslides on hills and slopes. Residents should monitor weather developments, especially in places previously affected by flooding, flash floods or landslides.

Southern region: cloudy, sunny by day, isolated evening and nighttime showers and thunderstorms, light winds; 24-27°C at night and 31-34°C by day. Ho Chi Minh City: the same conditions, with 25-27°C at night and 32-34°C by day. Thunderstorms may bring whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong wind gusts in all three areas.
