On October 31, Hanoi Heart Hospital held a ceremony to receive the second-class Labor Order and mark the 25th anniversary of its founding. The hospital has operated since 2001.
At the ceremony, Tran Duc Thang, secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, praised the hospital's doctors for their contribution to protecting and improving residents' health.
He said the award recognized the hospital's contribution over 25 years. He called on the hospital and Hanoi's health sector to improve hospital management, use resources more effectively, expand digital transformation, apply science, technology and artificial intelligence in management, diagnosis and treatment, and ensure patient safety.
Tran Duc Thang urged the hospital to develop priority specialties, master advanced medical techniques, expand scientific research and international cooperation, and prepare staff, infrastructure and professional conditions for methods including heart transplantation and combined surgical and minimally invasive treatment.
The hospital develops specialized treatment methods
Hanoi Heart Hospital is a first-category specialized hospital under the Hanoi Department of Health. Under the Ministry of Health's assignment, it is a top-level facility providing specialized cardiovascular care.
Hospital director Nguyen Sinh Hien said that over 25 years the institution had developed five main fields: medical, pediatric and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular surgery and metabolic cardiology.
The hospital has introduced modern methods for diagnosing and treating complex cardiovascular diseases, including surgery for congenital heart disease and diseases of the valves, aorta and coronary vessels, as well as minimally invasive and fully endoscopic heart surgery.
The hospital has become one of Asia's major centers for endoscopic heart surgery. It described this as evidence that Vietnamese doctors can apply modern cardiovascular surgery technologies.
Tens of thousands of patients have gained access to interventional treatment for coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders and other complex lesions.
Alongside specialized treatment, the hospital has standardized treatment processes and improved patient care and management under international standards. In 2024, the American Heart Association gave it a Gold Award for heart failure management and treatment.
