The administration of the Ba Den Mountain national tourist site in Tay Ninh Province warned visitors to finish descending the mountain by 5:30 p.m.

At 7:20 p.m. on October 24, the site's rescue team received a report about a tourist who had become lost near power pole No. 45 on the Electric Poles route. Because it was dark and the terrain was steep and rocky, the tourist could not safely find the way down.

Rescuers contacted the tourist by phone, gave directions and helped the person stay calm. The team then took specialist flashlights, drinking water and medical supplies to the location.

After an initial health check, providing water and helping the tourist regain strength, rescuers brought the person safely to the foot of the mountain at 8:58 p.m. the same day.

Cases of visitors descending Ba Den Mountain at night, losing their bearings and needing rescue have occurred before. The mountain has steep rocky terrain, and the surface becomes slippery during the rainy season. Visitors may lose their way, become exhausted or suffer injuries.

The administration's recommendations

1. Plan your travel time in advance: start early and allow enough time to finish descending by 5:30 p.m. Do not continue in the dark unless conditions are safe and you have the necessary equipment.

2. Do not set up a tent or stay overnight in the special-use forest or on the mountain slopes without permission.

3. Register and provide complete information at the security post on the Electric Poles route before hiking. This supports monitoring and assistance when needed.

4. Bring a flashlight, spare batteries, drinking water, a raincoat, personal first-aid supplies and other essential items suited to the route.

5. Travel in a group and stay on the permitted route. Visitors are advised to go in groups of at least two, avoid unfamiliar paths and dangerous areas, and stop the hike if the weather worsens or unsafe conditions appear.

6. If you need help, call the site administration hotline: 0276.387.5678.
