The main activities are scheduled for November 2027. Leaders from 21 APEC economies and about 10,000 delegates, including officials, international media and business representatives, are expected.

Early preparations

The province is advancing 21 infrastructure projects: 10 public investment projects and 11 public-private partnership projects. Their total capital exceeds 137.1 trillion VND (5.27 billion USD).

Task Force 833 reviewed nearly 400 land cases and organised dialogues with residents. In 228 cases, residents voluntarily handed over their land, so compulsory enforcement was not needed. Authorities followed legal procedures in the other cases.

Tighter risk control

Police stepped up patrols in Phu Quoc and broke up a transnational gambling and money-laundering ring involving hundreds of billions of VND. Authorities initially arrested 29 suspects.

Agencies identified locations for signs in restricted-flight zones around Phu Quoc and Rach Gia airports. The province is tightening oversight of drone businesses and users and preparing for possible emergencies.
