AEON Mall Thanh Hoa, AEON's first shopping mall in Vietnam's North Central region, officially opened in Thanh Hoa province on October 18. The centre had started welcoming visitors on October 15.
More than 200,000 people visited AEON Mall Thanh Hoa during its first three days of operation.
The centre was built on a 10.5-hectare site in Quang Phu Ward, Thanh Hoa, with total investment of about VND 4.157 trillion. It has around 120,000 square metres of floor space and more than 130 stores featuring Japanese, Vietnamese and other international brands.
At the opening ceremony, Tezuka Daisuke, an AEON Group board member and general director of AEON Vietnam, said Thanh Hoa had strong potential. He said demand from young families in the province was expected to grow quickly.
Tezuka Daisuke also said he was pleased that AEON Mall Thanh Hoa had recorded more than 200,000 visitors in the first three days after opening on October 15.
To Anh Dung, deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said AEON Mall's presence would create new opportunities for cooperation between Thanh Hoa and Japan and help strengthen Vietnam-Japan friendship.
The opening of AEON Mall Thanh Hoa is intended to meet local demand for shopping, dining, fashion and family care products, while adding to the modern retail landscape in Vietnam's North Central region.
To Anh Dung also asked AEON to prioritise agricultural and seafood products, along with products from Thanh Hoa's OCOP programme, in the group's retail system. He called on the centre to help attract more Japanese investors to the province.
